These Terms of Use govern your use of the Pleiades Housing Alliance website at pleiadeshousingalliance.org. Pleiades Housing Alliance (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a non-profit corporation incorporated federally under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, Corporation No. 1460040-1. By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

1. Who we are

Pleiades Housing Alliance is a federally incorporated Canadian non-profit working with First Peoples and Indigenous Nations to deliver safe, durable, culturally appropriate housing. We are not a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency, and we are therefore unable to issue charitable tax receipts at this time. We say so wherever we ask for a gift, and we will update this page if that status changes.

2. Using this website

You may read, print, and share the content on this site for personal, educational, or non-commercial purposes, provided you do not alter it and you credit Pleiades Housing Alliance as the source. You agree not to:

• use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its server, or any connected system;
• use automated tools to harvest personal information, including email addresses, from this site;
• submit false, misleading, or deliberately harmful information through our contact form.

3. Donations

Donations made through this site are processed by Zeffy, a third-party donation platform, on Zeffy’s own secure pages. We never receive or store your card or bank details. Your gift is also subject to Zeffy’s terms and policies, available at support.zeffy.com/legal-data-privacy-security.

Gifts are applied to our charitable purposes as described on this website. Because we are a non-profit rather than a registered charity, donations are not eligible for a charitable tax receipt. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us using the details below and we will work with you and with Zeffy to resolve it.

4. Accuracy of information

We work hard to make the information on this site accurate and current, and we cite our sources for the statistics we publish. Even so, content is provided for general information only. Housing policy, funding programs, and published research change over time, and we do not warrant that everything here is complete or up to date at the moment you read it. Nothing on this site is legal, financial, or professional advice.

5. Links to other websites

This site links to third-party websites, including government pages, news reporting, published research, and our donation platform. Those sites are not under our control. We provide the links because we cite or rely on them, not as an endorsement of everything on them, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices.

6. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the text, design, logos, and original articles on this site belong to Pleiades Housing Alliance. Photographs and other material used under licence or credited to third parties remain the property of their owners. Please contact us before reproducing any of it commercially.

7. Privacy

Your use of this site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how donations are processed, who we share information with, and the rights you have under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

8. Limitation of liability

This website is provided on an “as is” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pleiades Housing Alliance is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or anything you rely on from it. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
