We are a small team in our founding year, and we would rather answer you properly than quickly. Telling us which of these describes you helps your message reach the right person first time.
Communities seeking housing support
If you are writing on behalf of a First Nation, Inuit or Métis community, tell us where you are, roughly how many homes are needed, and what stage you are at — whether that is an early conversation, a completed housing needs assessment, or an application already in progress. Every project we take on begins with a formal Joint Venture or Memorandum of Understanding with the community's own leadership, so nothing moves without you.
Donors and founding supporters
Tell us whether you are considering a one-time gift, monthly giving, or a founding-partner commitment, and whether you are giving personally, through a family foundation, or through a donor-advised fund. If you would like to understand how philanthropic capital is intended to unlock government housing funding before you give, say so and we will walk you through the model.
Corporate, ESG and impact partners
We work with companies looking for measurable, documented reconciliation outcomes their board and stakeholders can stand behind. Let us know what reporting you need and on what cycle, and whether you are exploring sponsorship, in-kind contribution, employee giving, or a longer-term programme partnership.
Media and researchers
Tell us your outlet, the angle you are working on, and your deadline. Every statistic we publish is attributed to its original source, and we would rather point you to that source than have a number travel without one. We can also speak to the housing conditions behind the figures.
Questions we are asked often
Can you issue a charitable tax receipt? Not yet. Pleiades Housing Alliance is a federally incorporated non-profit under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, Corporation No. 1460040-1, and our CRA charitable registration application has been filed but not yet granted. Until it is, we cannot issue charitable tax receipts, and we say so before you give rather than after.
How soon will I hear back? We reply to every enquiry within two business days. If your message concerns an active housing emergency in your community, say so in the first line and we will prioritise it.
